Nokesville Vol Fire and Rescue Dept. had four members graduate from Volunteer Recruit School 21-161. These four firefighters spent over 400 hours of their time in training. Their classes covered Firefighter 1 and 2, Mayday Firefighter Down, LPG Emergencies, RITCO, Vehicle Rescue and a number of other classes.
Our volunteers are some of the highest trained volunteers in the state of Virginia. All Volunteers must meet Uniform Rank Structure (URS) that is no different than the same training taken by our career brothers and sisters.
Chief Conway stated “I am very proud of the dedication that these four firefighters have shown. They are huge assets to our volunteer fire department and the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System.”
While attending class our four firefighters were assigned to crews and were staffing units when not in class. This truly shows the passion they have to serve the community.
Newly certified firefighters are Michael McNea, Nikolaus Garcia, Ryan Hughes, and Kieran Nelson. We wish them all the best in their new volunteer careers.
