Three NVFD Members Graduate from Volunteer Recruit Class

Nokesville Vol Fire and Rescue Dept. had three members graduate from Volunteer Recruit Class 24016 on Monday, January 8th, 2024. These three firefighters spent over 400 hours of their time in training. Their classes covered Firefighter 1 and 2, Mayday Firefighter Down, LPG Emergencies, RITCO, Vehicle Rescue and several other classes.

Our volunteers are some of the highest trained volunteers in the state of Virginia. All Volunteers must meet Uniform Rank Structure (URS) that is no different than the same training taken by our career brothers and sisters.

While attending class our three firefighters were assigned to crews and were staffing units when not in class. This truly shows the passion for serving their community.

Our newly certified firefighters are Hannah Lynn, Joseph Clerkin, and Hugo Baez Urquiola.

Lynn served as the class spokesperson, delivering a speech to the graduation ceremony audience that included many Prince William County Government Leaders and Fire & Rescue System Leaders. She also won the PWC Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Leadership Award.

Lynn and Baez Urquiola also served as Battalion Leaders who lead their classmates during the course.

You can view the entire ceremony at this link.

Nokesville Leadership wishes them all the best in their new volunteer careers.
