This year’s Fire Prevention Week will be Sunday, October 6th through Saturday, October 12th, with the theme of “Smoke Alarms: Make Them Work for You!” encouraging families to be vigilant in checking their smoke alarms regularly, replacing the batteries and/or the smoke alarms as needed; working “Smoke Alarms Save Lives!”
The public is invited to celebrate Fire Prevention Week with the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System during their Open Houses and Expo on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Open Houses will be held at various fire and rescue stations throughout the county. Families are welcome to tour the stations and meet the firefighters who serve the community. A list of the stations, locations, and times of Open Houses are listed on the county website here.
